Hexdb / HXDB / Hexa-dB

Post by Hexa-dB » Fri Jul 30, 2010 10:34 am

I've just noticed, when going through the mixes forum, that it looks like there are a few other "Hexa-dB"s. I've been using the name since 1998 (either as Hexa-dB, Hexadecibel or even 0xdB) - gutted

Should I use a different name for my music from now on? How well known is are the other ones? Maybe I should just say balls to it, I've been using it for long enough, but then it looks like the other Hexas might be more famous..?

Nearly all the results when Googling for "hexa-db" or "hexadb" are things I've posted (my Flickr/Youtube/forum posts etc). Searching Wikipedia finds a reference to me as well, as does last.fm when searching for hexadb.
No I'm not HXDB but I've been using this name since 1998. May change it if I think of something better

Well, hexadecibel is a canadian producer. Alot of releases (due to almost silly levels of badmannery) already out there/coming. Unless youre that hexadecibel I guess the names been taken :P He tends to go by "Hxdb" though!

Nope that's not me. I abbreviate it to Hexa-dB most of the time.

The annoying thing is that he's obviously better at it than me! The only thing that's been released with my version of that name is a remix on this EP and various mp3s sent to friends/circulated.

I used it first but he's better/more famous so I guess I'll have to let it go :u: Annoying after using it for nearly every forum I've signed up to in the last 11 years!

PS - Just saw that you're in Cardiff, I'm down the road in Swansea.

Errrf!

yeah mate, I commonly go as hexadecibel or hxdb and also have been since the late 90s. I have a long list of stuff out on discogs and such. IDK man, I'll leave it to your discretion, but I implore that you'll "do the right thing" ;)

Cheers.

Who is this: http://www.discogs.com/artist/HxdB because that guy is pretty cool. If it isn't you, I'm sure you're cool too, just not cool enough to keep your name sorry.

Edit: Oops not sure how i missed this post.
