Post by edgecom » Tue Aug 10, 2010 3:30 pm

Online with upgraded memory + 2GB CF ccard for 400$. I couldnt pass the deal up. I dont know the point of this thread besides expressing my excitement to add it to my lab.

anyone here produce on MPCs. I need to get a serious wav collection going. To the ones who do use MPC how do you go about bringing your sounds in. or I dk anything about production on this little beauty of a device.

I have an mpc 2000 that I haven't used in a while. I haven't tried producing any dubstep on an mpc, the work flow with it just seems so slow compared to using a computer. Also dubstep usually has a more modern production value that I feel you can't get with and mpc, at least when it comes to arranging basses/wobbles. You should try to do your drums and/or other samples and incidentals it could be worth while. Also to get samples onto mine I had to put the wavs from my computer onto zip disks to get them to the mpc, your 500 might be newer than mine so maybe you could use a more modern form of media than a zip.

thought about picking one up mtyself a while back, but a mate of mine whos a bit of a hip hop head was telling me that the 500 is basically a toy compared to the bigger versions and to save up for a 1000/2000xl, would love to know how youre getting on with it!
