I've been looking on and off for the last year or so and never had any luck but I really need to get this one locked down I think,
In return I have about 15-20 metroid prime samples that I ripped the other day

the call to prayer/azaan gets used loads and isn't a sufi thing. arabic can generally sound pretty good no matter what shit they're on about.Basic A wrote:you mean Sufi?narcissus wrote:muslim prayers
I tried to use the hail mary in my song. It offended the catholics....I got rapedlowpass wrote:Cool, I've heard of people using prayers before, a bit ignorant but I have to ask, it's okay to use that sort of stuff in songs? I mean it's not offending anyone?

freedom to sample things is something i hold dear and it's actually a tangible reality unlike their made up rules so in other words....fuck them and their law.eops wrote:lowpass wrote: And while you could say who cares what they believe etc remember its important to some believers so why irritate them?
... choose another sample - preferably one which means something to you and you might even understand.
noone owes me a living, but respecting nonsensical ideas isn't something i do. everyone is happy to laugh at someone that thinks the earth is flat, what makes belief in imaginary creators any different?eops wrote:Well that attitude is nearly as regressive as theirs so I guess that's equilibrium of a sort.
But really your right?
I do hope you pay the artists you sample.
I mean fairplay to u but it's not about the rules it's about being polite.
I'm an atheist (lapsed catholic) but not a rude bastard who thinks the world owes them a living.

Thanks to everyone who contributed, I will do a bit more research and actually understand it a bit more if I did sample this. I don't want to be that guy doing it just to sound cool.
Think that's it as far as anything positive goes, this could be offensive but it's just something to be wary of.
