At the age of eighteen Steven started producing Happy Hardcore which led to him DJ’ing all around the Midlands. Then he heard Mary Anne Hobbs on her BBC Radio1 show. The sound she was supporting totally changed his whole outlook on music and made him realize that you don’t have to stick to certain formulas to make good music. This is when he started producing his own interpretation of Dubstep, IDM, Ambient and Sci-fi Glitch under the guise of Barbarix. Since then he has had airplay on a number of internet radio stations in England, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, Florida, Atlanta, Spain, Greece, Belgium, Russia, Ukraine and regular plays on Radio1 and the Asian network by Mary Anne Hobbs, Bobby Friction & Nihal and Radio1's 'IN NEW DJ'S WE TRUST' DJ Nerm. Barbarix has also been a feature artist on Rob Booth's well respected Electronic Explorations podcast.

Spawned from the Duo of Flip (Phil Garner) and Dilemma (Sheldon Peck) and not failing to mention Dropzone (Staurt Austin). FlipnDilemma have its roots firmly in Birmingham and are starting to get quite a following. They have booked artists such as Hakka (submission/Afterdark) Jekyll (Submission) Made (RAW) DJ Dirty (Raveology), Sheppard (Bigger than Barry/Vulture, Vulture) and Barbarix (Hospital/Dubsaw/Aquatic Labs).

Originally established in 2004, xetechno was born simply from the raw passion for Techno of its two founders Simon Owen & Chris Allsopp as a medium of release for their early studio works and collective live DJ work. Since then we have grown to accomadate a roster of talented artists who have graced our ever-expanding catalogue with their sonic footprints.
Based in Birmingham UK, our aim is to create something special for the wired, conscious world of today. We champion the desire to entertain people and change the way their ears perceive the world around them. Ultimately, our goal is to carefully nurture an outstanding entity in the world of electronic dance music, and continually develop the way the world hears and manipulates the soul of the machine.
