you can do a status but click on the little padlock and customise it so you hide it from certain people?

yeah, you can ban certain people from seeing your status's or set up limited profile, so they don't see anything you do, just your profile and your wall and you can delete wall posts what seem iffy...

Moral of the story, don't add your fam onto facebook if you do things they don't approve of.. haha
