That's my plan of action too, no point doing it if it's not right! Most people that put stuff up for public scrutiny don't seem to have got to the point of it being ready even if they think it is (probably because they've either been A) showing off to people that don't know who are easily impressed or B) can't take criticism even if it's constructive or C) both the previous two). All the big dogs just make it and get it out, you don't see Skream, Distance, DMZ etc (missing out a lot of names, think of the top of the top) advertising their soundcloud and asking for public feedback they quite possibly watch this board though, I know Skream does overtly and I wouldn't be surprised if others did!

i really wish there was some kind of filter that didn't let people start threads until they hit a certain post count, had been registered for a brief period, etc. would help drastically with all the b.s. that is posted up on a seemingly hourly basis these days.

thank you! i dunno what happened in the last year or two but i really dont remember this much wack newb shit poppin up on forums before, its like every forum im on has some newb ass trying to push his underproduced not there yet music it bugs the shit out of me.

The bass is wayyyyyy too loud in your track, and the kick/snare both lack punch and depth - try layering your drums and adding some compression and stuff, also there's not much in the way of percussion in there.

I'd also try to make something more melodic with your bassline, at the moment it seems to rely too much on the LFO automation rather than being catchy or interesting (since there are no vocals and bass is the focus it's gotta be something people can remember).

Also mess around with 3-4 bass patches in your bassline, with one sound it gets repetitive very quickly.


So yeah, long story short: work on your drums, your mixdown, and your bassline/patches and you're on your way!
