Or on the same level. I've heard only a handful of tunes from these guys, and as of this moment I'm listening to their Train Wreck Mix...and this mix solidifies the fact that these guys make the most serious dubstep right now. No jokes, no funny synthlines, or upbeat happy melodies...straight up darkness.
Personally, I love this kind of dubstep. To me the closest one is Martyn, he has his own trademark sound, but keeps it deep and dark..though he has crossed over to UK Funky quite a bit... is there anyone out there who's consistent with making atmospheric tunes like Kryptic Minds? Or are they Kings of the Mountain right now in this sound?

Icicle makes some sick stuff as well at 140. Also check out some deeper Truth things, Skream's eyes-down style, Vivek, and just about anything Youngsta plays on his Thursday show on Rinse. Give that a listen and you won't believe what you hear!

Some of the tunes from the new Truth album are reminiscent of the KM sound. Definitely worth a look in.

SP:MC, Ben Verse, Truth, Joker D, Clubroot, Icicle, Vivek, Distance, Mala, Skream, Breakage, Lurka, Science, DJ Madd, Matt-U
Like said above, anything that Youngsta plays. Kryptic Minds have modeled their sound to Youngsta's liking and other artists are doing the same. Of course they are the ones making the tunes, but Youngsta is a big influence on the way some of the tunes are produced.

Ok looks like I'll have to listen to this Youngsta fellow. I checked Rinse FM's site, to see what time he plays on Thursday, but their official site only has a "Coming Soon" under their schedule.
Would it be fair to label Kryptic Minds' stuff as "dubtech". I listened to their Train Wreck Mix last nite, and I looped "
One of Us" close to 10 times already. I really love this type of sound.

why are people saying kryptic minds are making their dubstep based on what youngsta plays? lmao
they've been making dark dnb for years so it only makes sense that they'd make dark dubstep because that's the style they've honed their skills on for years. Not putting youngsta down though, got much love for him.
