ARGH! I did it again... lol. Added my track last day for the previous topic :P

Aaaanyways. Working on another one now, but may as well get some more feedback on the track I'm 90% finished on.

Check out my sig, or click below:

I'm working on a more dancefloor, dubtech style track atm which has come out of nowhere (yay!) so will post that up in a few days :)

a tune im working on sorta hit a brick wall now let me know good points bad points etc :t: dsf

edit: @amphibian real calming tune, nice spacey trippy synths you got on it haha gives it a real e.t flying over the moon on a bicycle feel :e: :P, ive never really made chill songs so im shooting blanks here but id switch it up sometime near the middle as it gets a tad repetitive.

Mate you've got some solid production skills in use there and I especially love the vocal use before the drop - however the heavy bitcrushing effect kinda kills and overpowers it quite considerably imo. Just my 2c.

As for my track - totally agree with you, I've hit a brick wall also. hehe

Another one I'm working on atm (and more to come later in the month). This one is aimed at the dancefloor. I'm kinda stuck for the intro so hoping for some help in that regard. hehe

Cheers!

@WABBLE - Thats really good. Nice intensity. One criticism is that that there is ALOT of reverb there. I would def cut it from the synth and soften it on the drums. Other than that Im looking forward to the finished product.

@amphibian - I like the chilled out vibe. Youve been getting back some good feedback and the track is sounding better. The synths at 58 seconds feel a little loud. Perhaps some eq dip around 250-1000 would make them fit a little better.

Here is something new I have been working on.

A skeleton of basic drums, bass and synths

Please feedback accordingly

@marshy stereo field mix is proper!!! mix is on point aswell, no complaints, maybe a drop or remix.. sub bass is room-filling

@billycrystal nice use of formant filter?? i like the groove to the track.. it sits well and ur foundation is solid... the low end gets muddy at the break... loved that drop tho

dried this one out and brought the kit down in the mix.. ;)

Oops, Posted on the August right before the switch. Let's try that again.

@grok: Damn! I love it! Seriously, the notes you're hitting to the mixdown to the little chiptune sounds you're rocking, I love it. Wish I had something more constructive to tell you. I don't. Strong work. Bassline's a bit simple for my taste in tunes of this nature, but the other bits help hold the listener's interest. It helps that this track is right up my alley as far as what I enjoy anyway.

@Sirius: That percussion pops man. Which I like. You're use of space and minimalism I admire. You're quite a ways ahead of me in terms of mixdown. I've got no great suggestions that way. I feel like I've only got good things to say tonight. Really nice track, and that vocal is haunting in all the right ways.

@Neff: Oldschool classic dubstep stylee. That kick's not hitting as hard as I'd have it hit. You compressing it? Nice vocal sample btw. And I can tell you've got some epic sub bass pulsations but they're not coming through as epic. They're coming thru as sorta washed out. Maybe push the bottom end some. I'd say make room, but doesn't seem much else is going on down there, soooo, maybe that's how you were wanting it. Anyways, nice ethereal deep track. Again, good and haunting.

Ok, I'm gonna post my most recent track, which I just put together today. I really haven't fleshed it out much, but I'm trying to decide whether to move forward with it and how. I know it needs some Eq and compression work, but I'd still like some feedback as to where and how. The second one, Crows on the line, I posted a week or two ago but got very little feedback. So yeah, feedback on both would be ideal. Thanks in advance.

THat sounds good. The synth's still little too reverby for me but im guessing you are doing this by choice. Theres a plugin call bad buss mojo that dirties up the sound quite nicely. I think that its something that you could have some fun with hearing your sound.

Thanks for the kind words - that is not a format filter... theres some Funkadelic tune that starts with 10 minutes of talking through a talk box. i sampled some of it and messed around with the pitches to get a nice bass line going.

@grime syndicate - your first track, I think the snare sounds a bit too meaty for the kind of sound you're going for. Could just be my headphones though (cheap ass ones at the office!). Your second track however, I think has a really nice mood to it but I feel as though the phaser use is a bit heavy. That said, some of the parts to the song work really well, such as around 1.08 where you've got that high-passed wobble. Did you make this yourself? I think the breakdown here is fantastic and the mood + buildup back is excellent. The bitcrushed synth after the drop however, I don't think fits as well.

Unfortunately I got no ideas for your first track, sorry :(

I did make that. At 1:08 is where the heavily phased and wobbled foreground bass exits and there is a high pitched sorta sweep wobble that serves as a transition into the ethereal bit which comes back for a moment. (I think this is what you're referring to.) Yes, I made that sweepy bit in Albino from Rob Papen. I love that synth. I made everything really. The ethereal bit is the combination of a few different things, one of which is a pad patch I didn't do much to. If it ain't broke, don't fix it I figure. Everything else though, was either from scratch or a heavily altered patch. But thank you. I'll take your comments as saying I'm on the right path. I've only been producing for around 3 months, but I feel like I've made some really decent progress. Thanks for the feedback.

@Marshy

Good mix, I liked it. Only thing I'd suggest is maybe adjusting the kick EQ just a hair, making it cut through a little better during the really bass heavy parts.

This is my first track i've posted here, so heres a little background...

21 years old from Hartford,CT,USA. Been producing with logic for about 7 months now, here's a recent one...I'm playing around with the bass as we speak.

Mate I think you've got a really nice progression in this track. I think the intro needs a little work but otherwise all your synths and everything work really nicely. I was a bit dubious about the kick/snare combination but once the main lead kicked in it all made sense. Well done :)

Here's a REALLY early demo of a track I started in august, I have an updated version of it but haven't had the chance to upload it to soundcloud yet.
