John Strickland, better known as Qel-Droma in the dubstep scene, is the founder and CEO of Stupid Fly Records, Inc., based out of Jacksonville, Florida. Qel-Droma has been heavily involved with music since a very early age, but dubstep is by far the keystone of his musical career. He is half of the production team "Sub Affair" (Alexis K being the other half), a duo who released "Lemon" back in May and have an arsenal of tunes to be released soon. Qel-Droma uses "iGeek", which is 2 iPads and an iPhone, when he plays his sets and is sponsored by several app developers. Qel tears the dance floor up by playing heavy but very danceable productions mixed with reggae-influenced vibes that are often blended with crowd-pleasing vocals. He's currently a resident at Jacksonville, FL's hottest Dubstep night "Crunchay Sunday". He has DJ'ed at prominent dubstep events across the US such as "Shift Dubstep Sessions" in Seattle, WA "Mad Classy" in Austin, TX (twice), "MJ's Birthday" in Atlanta, GA 4th of July '09 and "Audible Warfare" in Jacksonville, FL summer of 2008 and many other events throughout the southeast. As he continues to fuel the dubstep sound throughout the southeast, he is currently accepting bookings throughout the USA.
