Portable Apps

Post by legend4ry » Sat Sep 11, 2010 4:46 pm

Not really production related but seeing as we all use our computers (probably) extensively, heres a cool little thing..

They have a suite, which you load onto your USB stick and it loads the files up when you open the application, it kinda looks like the windows "start" menu.

It has Audacity on it and stuff so I guess its kinda music related! Either way - Enjoy!

@ Legend4ry - Portable apps are cool. Been using Open office and VLC for a while.

@ Silent K - Nice! Going to try this on Photoshop at some point, and maybe Reason too... :)

@ Deadly Habit - Silence you blasphemer! Image

yeah you could technically take your entire production set-up, stick it on a portable HDD and run it on a virtual machine on virtually any computer and have it work exactly the same (in theory  ) now that is a truly portable production set-up!

Do you know what kinds of sizes the output file are?

I also use Firefox Portable regularly when in situations where I either want privacy (it stores temporary files in RAM) or the only other option is Intermeh Explorrrer (blurgh)...

Despite not being free, Reaper is already very light weight and portable... Been using it portably since before the whole portable freeware pack thingy.
