So your a Producer and you think you're better than....

Post by rub-a-dubstep » Thu Sep 16, 2010 12:25 pm

80% of what you hear on most mixes

You know you're good because everybody tells you ur amazing (not including your mum unless your mum is an old skool DJ or raver or suttin).

You have a stockpile of tracks on ur harddrive in a folder named 'Tracks they aint ready for'

Basically if you think ur a badman DJ/Producer or something and you want to get in the industry...

HOLLA!!

If we agree with you...

We will help you....

The aim of this thread is -

U want a helping hand in getting noticed...We'll help you.

There's loads of DJ's getting alot of attention for reasons i don't really understand...basically they are shit but everyone knows their name so they command alot of money and people pay to see them.

There's alot of bedroom DJ's who don't get anywhere because they don't think anybody will give them a chance and for the most part nobody will because nobody will pay to see them.

We basically give the truly talented a chance regardless of exposure...because we can.

So far we already have given alot of exposure to a few artists who are truly talented and one of which blew up on Get Darker and actually got signed to an agency from our first rave, they're now on a line up including Cookie Monster, Funtcase and a whole host of other Big Names.

Another is now getting the opportunity to get on Radio with a MAJOR DJ and they've only been DJ'ing for 7 months.

We've gotten unknown producers tracks on radio when nobody apart from their mates had really taken any notice of their tracks.

So what i basically want is good music which is going unnoticed and bringing it to the forefront...

What is it actually going to hurt you to say 'Here's my mix/track' - what do you think?

I think really if you want to make it and be recognised for your work you should be doing this anyway.

If you don't want the help or exposure then fair enough walk on by, this post wasn't meant for you but if you want it then come and chat to us.

Quite simple me thinks.

Bless

who doesn't want the help or exposure? it doesn't mean that a thread on dubstepforum is gonna break someone through to the rest of the world. life isn't that simple as much as we'd all like it to be.

I'm not saying they're huge but they are big enough to fill venues. Fact

It's not a matter of exclusivity people pay to see them play.

It's as simple as that....

basically they're no longer playing in their bedrooms...they're being paid to play on line ups they used to pay to see and that is the aim of the game...

You can laugh about it or see it for what it is...

the average joe needs his heroe too... its a talent of its own to please ''the masses''... even tho to me, its a really :| talent.. so yes, Mt Eden has his own talent.. its a choice u can make or make not.

bottom line, if your sound is really incredible and if u have that much talent, ur gonna get recognized for it, dont worry... take burial for instance...

im still a nobody but i take my shit very seriously and to me, crafting my own fanbase is part of the creative process..

but....

u know...

maybe send some demos!?!?!
