Looking For Bristol Record Shop

Post by prosthetics » Sun Sep 19, 2010 4:32 pm

Hi Everyone!
I'll be going to Bristol soon, and I'd like to know of any good record shops where I can browse dubstep and dnb vynils. I'm from eastern europe and there aren't any shops with such music here. Any recommendations?
Cheers

Don't live in Bristol myself but hear many heads and producers comment on Rooted Records.

thats the google map for you pal.

Rooted is a sweet little shop, they have a range of music, and the staff and friendly, lovely vibe!! It's run by Peverelist.
I bought my first vinyls from rooted!! (on a visit to family in bristol)

Get yourself down there!

Yeah, Rooted's the one.

Chemical's alright if you know what you're looking for but Rooted's definitely the one. Pretty much every time I go in I have to buy something. It gets expensive.

Yeah, Rooted's the bizniz, I reckon slightly pricier than my local, Eastern Bloc in Manc, but a really sick selection.

Also, its on Gloucester rd, so check out the butchers up the street which does burgers outside on the weekend, fucking peng-a-leng.

I'll ask an additional question. How much more expensive are vynils in these shops vs. ordering them online?
The problem with the latter is that my records arrive late, and not always in mint condition( but I'm not going to wait another 3 weeks to get it in 100% condition)

Rooted is the one, there's also some nice pubs on Glos Rd - the Prince Of Wales next door, and the Bristol Flyer a bit further up. There's a decent 2nd hand record shop called Prime Cuts too which is underneath the retro clothes shop Repsycho.

If you want more ideas of things to visit or more info on Bristol stop in at www.hijackbristol.co.uk - a busy & friendly local forum. :4:

Where do you live and who do you use to buy records from?

I have use Chemical Records now without any issues for the past year and a bit.

I've ordered from boomkat many times, they've arrived in the same week, perfectly safe and sound!
