sincerely doubt you know everything about flstudio, and switching daws isn't going to affect your sound quality, mixdowns, or abilities
well maybe your abilities as it will offer a new workflow, but constantly changing daws is going to do nothing more than give you a bunch of tools you're mediocre with

yeah not EVERYTHING hahaa but i mean i feel like it may be a lot easyer to make dubstep with something other than Fruity loops

well if you're used to vsts then reason is going to taking a step backwards as you're stuck to what's in the box
ableton may suit your workflow more, so dl and try the demo
otherwise i'd invest your cash in some books, dvds, mag subscriptions on relevant topics like the power manual series, fl bible in your case or mixing books, mastering whatever you want to learn more about
usually a much better and cheaper investment than changing daws all the time

Well I've used all of those since I started producing and I completely agree with you about Fruity Loops - it's pretty pants!
I've only ever tried demo's of reason and to be honest it wasn't to my taste - you'll find Reason is a bit of a marmite DAW, you'll either love it or hate it!!
I only recently stopped using Ableton and to be fair it is a really good DAW and it'll make working with samples and audio a hell of a lot easier than either Reason or Fruity Loops!
But, having said that, don't rule out Cubase, you could pick up a copy of Cubase Studio for the same price as Live and, to be honest, it's a much better Daw!
Has loads of really high quality effects packaged with it and comes with HALion and Prologue, respectively both a top class sampler and a top class synth, where as ableton (unless you can afford suite) only comes packaged with simpler and drum racks.
Cubase also has built in pitch editor software pretty similar to (but not as good as) Melodyne, which makes figuring out vocal keys a drum pitches a doddle.
Hope this helps.

i don't compute the difference between "nice sound" and "full mastered sound".decappp wrote:symmetricalsounds wrote:contradiction?decappp wrote: its way to easy but it takes too much work to master a good sound out of it

no you just need to learn how to master which might mean a few extra plugins but it doesn't need a new DAW.
Re: Sick of using FL would Reason be better or Ableton... hmmmm
suggestions for some mastering plug ins?

i suggest you hunt down a copy of the latest issue of tape op, turn to the last page and read the rant on mixing vs mastering
then flip to the back cover and see the uad2 ad and you'll have a very good place to start for new toys

i think you need to learn about what it is first before just blindly messing with plugins.

FL is fine dude
people are just frowning upon it because of its name "fruity"

think the OP is the one doing the frowning, most of the other advice has told him he doesn't need to change DAW.Nacklewicket wrote:FL is fine dudepeople are just frowning upon it because of its name "fruity"
Re: Sick of using FL would Reason be better or Ableton... hmmmm
Changing DAW isn't going to get you that "full sound", your mixdown will... and mastering if necessary. Obv if you're not into the workflow then go for it, but FL is fully capable of giving you a "pro sound" (plenty of big names prove this).
Re: Sick of using FL would Reason be better or Ableton... hmmmm
It's not your software that's the problem, it's you XDdecappp wrote:symmetricalsounds wrote:contradiction?decappp wrote: its way to easy but it takes too much work to master a good sound out of it

Moving DAW is only gonna add more time to when you will be making the kind of music you want as you'll have a whole load of new things to learn which you already know in fruity.
Re: Sick of using FL would Reason be better or Ableton... hmmmm
guess i just need to get more into mastering..... haha
Re: Sick of using FL would Reason be better or Ableton... hmmmm
I think Fl is extremely versatile and (for me the most important thing) quite easy to get into as a beginner.
And you can make good sounding stuff with every DAW in my opinion.
