Justin "Kutmah" McNulty was born in the UK to an Egyptian mother and Scottish father. After living in BRIGHTON he moved to the US when he was 12 years old. They immediately applied for US residency to keep from being sent to Egypt. The US court ruled that as a British citizen Kutmah would be able to live in the UK and denied their application.

Kutmah returned to court to plead his case fourteen years ago when he was 20. He was again denied a green card and was urged to sign a document stating he would voluntary leave the US.

On Wednesday morning, May 5th, 2010 armed agents entered Kutmah's house and detained him. He was brought to a facility in downtown LA where he was interrogated. On May 7th he was moved to a New Mexico detention center where he was locked up until June 29th. Kutmah was deported to the UK where he currently resides.

Between his arrival and deportation from the US he became a regular headliner at L.A's LOW END THEORY club night and a hugely successful visual and musical artist in his own right.

Darkstar are a probably the most promising electronic duo in the UK right now. Since 2007 they have been releasing music on Hyperdub and 2010 Records to critical acclaim.

They received strong critical praise for their initial releases: In 2009, their track "Aidy's Girl is a Computer" was named by The Guardian as "one of the singles of the year" (quite an achievement for an underground artist) and in the top 100 tracks of 2009 by Pitchfork Media.

Klic is a Brighton based producer/DJ currently breaking through on the Brighton based label Hit & Hope. With brilliant remixes featuring on Greymatter's Mind Over Matter Remixes EP, a debut EP dropping right now on Hit & Hope Records exquisitely called DACHSHUND SKANK EP, plus a forthcoming track on a compilation for Giles Peterson's Brownswood label, Brighton-based producer Klic has started to make some big moves recently.

Drawing from a disparate pool of sounds that flicker through the more constant touchstones, pulling against each other, Klic's music liberates itself from any definable sound. Amalgamating elements of the swing of garage and the syncopation of techno with the clockwork pulse of house the percussion recalls the rhythmic freedom of jungle.

Retaining the gritty and loose timbre of live music, the drums skitter and lurch forwards relentlessly driven by the physical undercurrent of the bass. Synths soak through the drums, weaving themselves in and out of the swirling atmospheres, rising and falling, forming and then melting away again, pinned together by the staccato melodic refrains.

Roughly speaking Duffstep is about 2-Steps short of a Dubstep and often moves in disguise to avoid detection. Until now Duffstep has hidden in the seedy undergrowth of London, ever plotting his imminent escape. This bid for freedom is known as ‘Getting To Sirius’ amongst those who know.

Duffstep’s debut album ‘Getting To Sirius’ is a myriad of dub influenced, down tempo beats and soothing sonic backdrops; melodies, synths and vocals soften the warm and fuzzy edges, before a nice big bassline knocks you down again.
