Distance
Part of the small nucleus of South London based Dubstep innovators, Distance has been a name on everyone's lips since day one, and is widely recognized as having helped to lay the foundations of what dubstep is and develop what it has become. Distance's recorded output is also formidable, finding homes on labels as underground and seminal as Hotflush, Destructive and Boka in his early career, to ending up on the world reputed Planet Mu, on which Distance released his debut album in 2007. Also that year he started his own stable, Chestplate. A label set up with the intention of showcasing the freshest of his own productions which have been destroying dances and flooring radio listeners ever since.

MRK1

MRK1 was one of the first producers to pioneer the dubstep sound and was responsible for some of its first releases. Releases on Tempa, Soulja, Vehicle, Rephlex, Polydor, Wall of Sound, Texture, Techonic, Earwax, Terra Rhythm, Ministry of Sound, and Defected to name a few has seen MRK1 become one of the leading producers in this genre. In 2004 MRK1, Plastician and Slaughter Mob released an album called “Grime” on Aphex Twins label Rephlex Records. This was one of the key releases that propelled the dubstep/grime sound into media for the first time.

Son of Kick

Producer, DJ, and multi instrumentalist Son Of Kick is making waves with his bumping, super-charged live set. A bass-feast packed full of electro, Dubstep, heavy grooves and the insanely unpredictable. Catch him dropping acapella’s from Method Man or rocking snippets from the Violent Femmes alongside his own productions. On a playing field of his own right now, it was friend and vocalist RQM that recently coined his new style, ‘Psychostep’. Based in London, S.O.K.’s sound & style has already been picked up by various labels including the Stanton Warrior’s own Beat’s and pioneering London imprint Botchit and Scarper. Recent remix credits include work for labels such as Man Recordings (Germany), ESL Music (Washington DC), Civil Music (UK), and Om Records (San Francisco). With the second release on his own label Way Way Records due out late summer and a single licensed to Berlin glitch hop label Equinox Records due in October, it’s busy times.
'One of the most exciting and inventive producers I’ve heard this year - a fantastic blend of style and energy.' (Bassnectar - Om Records/Amorphous/Child's Play – San Francisco)
