The success of the last dance with KingThing and ReSketch representing Night Audio has left us eager to showcase more fine music for the bass heads of Liverpool and the Northwest. We return once again to Django’s Riff to present the future garage and ambient dubstep heavyweight ‘PHAELEH’ backed by the unstoppable artist and NIGHT AUDIO head-honcho SUBMERSE. Alongside these amazing acts we have the pleasure of welcoming local lad HORZA with support from Takeover residents ORGANIK and NATE. This danc...e is set to expand and surmount the legacy of top nights which Takeover prides itself on whilst also being friendly to your pocket – that’s right yet again we bring you the biggest names on the scene for FREE!!!
PHAELEH (Afterglo/Blackbox/Disfigured dubz/Wheel and Deal Records/Against the Grain/Surface Tension/Formant/Urban Scrumping)
We are honoured to introduce Phaeleh pronounced “Fella” for his Liverpool debut.
In 2006, classically trained musician and electronic sound scientist Matt Preston was swept up in the wake of the Dubstep phenomenon. His diverse influences resulted in an equally diverse musical output, ranging from the euphoric heights of Nordic electronica through cinematic breakbeat to the depth charges of Dubstep. Hailing from Bristol Phaeleh brings a whole new selection of exciting beats and sounds to the game.
Phaeleh’s unique sound has garnered support from the scene’s leading artists, including Skream, N-Type, Scuba, Distance, Kryptic Minds, Oris Jay, RSD and Jakes to name but a few, as well as radio support on BBC Radio 1, BBC Asian Network, BBC 6 Music and Kiss FM. This has helped Phaeleh to top the sales charts with releases on Surface Tension, Against the Grain & Urban Scrumping as well as future releases on Skream’s Disfigured Dubz, N-Type’s Wheel & Deal Records and label of the moment Black Box.

SUBMERSE (Night Audio/L2S/Formant/Fortified Audio/Slime/Car Crash Set/Well Rounded)
We are proud and pleased to welcome Submerse back to Takeover having smashed previous dances. Hailing from the Mersey shores Rob ‘Submerse’ has developed and grown exponentially surpassing the cliché ‘from strength to strength’ by miles with gigs and releases placing him all over the world from NYC to Japan.
Recognition comes from far and wide for the Future Garage / Skippy funky j-pop style 2-step emotive beats that have come to characterise Submerse’s beats. Heading the Night Audio label with KingThing, earlier releases featured people like EL-B, Sully, Sines while further plans include releases from Whistla, Resketch (who is now part of the Night Audio team!) Milyoo, Pixelord, Tricky Strutt and more to to be announced. There is talk of a special project lined up with EL-B but that’s currently all hush-hush.

Mike ‘Horza’ has continued to develop and expand his musical ability to demolish dances from the seminal night Pace Yourself to events as big as Outlook in Croatia. Taking Liverpool by storm Horza continues his Northwest conquest with Manchester’s original dubstep event ‘Basscamp’ alongside names such as Indigo/Biome and Ken evil.

NATE (Night Audio/Takeover):
Having worked hand-in-hand with Submerse for the past few years and heading the Night Audio label as well as playing regular shows on Sub FM, Takeover is proud to welcome this talented individual into the fold along with swinging high-hat selections and heavy bass riddims. A native son of the Mersey shores, Nate returns to Liverpool with experience of having played dances alongside artists such as Ramadanman, Synkro, Horsepower, Brackles and Mount Kimbie to name but a few to continue pushing future beats.
ORGANIK (Takeover/Earth/I heart moustache)
This fella continues to carry the mantle for future beats and sounds in and around the Northwest as a purveyor of heavy and skankin’ music as well as the odd appearance on SUBFM. Previous experience hosting the Takeover and Earth nights as well as playing in support for artists such as Hatcha, Crazy D, Synkro, Indigo, KingThing, ReSketch and Chimpo has produced a well rounded sound making him a one to watch.
