Woman stomped on outside of Kentucky Senatorial debate

While the Kentucky Senatorial debate on Monday night was markedly more cordial than usual, a fight that broke out before the event was anything but.

A female MoveOn.org activist was stomped on by a supporter of Kentucky GOP candidate Rand Paul after she attempted to approach him before his final debate with Democrat Jack Conway, Lexington police told the New York Daily News.

The 23-year-old woman with the liberal group, identified as Lauren Valle by local media, tripped and fell after someone ripped a blond wig off her head. She is then seen on video being wrestled to a curb by one man. After she is placed face down, another man stomps on her shoulder and head with his foot.

The Rand Paul supporter accused of kicking a liberal activist in the head before a Kentucky Senatorial debate is using his foot for something else—putting it in his mouth.

Tim Profitt said he used his foot to keep MoveOn.org's Lauren Valle down because he couldn't bend over due to a bad back. Profitt, the now-ex Bourbon County coordinator with the Paul campaign, said he was trying to protect the candidate, who was nearby.

"I feared for his safety," Profitt told a local CBS affiliate WKYT.

Now, the Tea Party supporter also fears for his own life, claiming he has received numerous death threats from people who saw the scuffle, which was caught on tape. He told The Associated Press that the incident appeared worse than it was due to a funny camera angle.

Profitt is being investigated for a fourth-degree assault, which is a misdemeanor, according to Sherelle Roberts, a press information officer for the Lexington cops.

Wouldn't call that a stomp. Still assault, but seriously not even close to a stomp. I guess that's a bit like telling someone to quit bitching about their minor heart attack though init.

She had a right to be there and a right to have her picture taken with her sign and the candidate in it... stupid that they are blaming the guy running for office because some crazies assaulted someone. As if there aren't zealots from both parties.
