A sea of smart thinking sorts poured through the gates of Heaven last month, as dollop successfully switched from East London's underground to the bright lights of Central. A forward thinking music policy, immersive visuals and an emphatic crowd all combined in an inaugural event that exceeded all expectations, and sets the bar high for November's event.
Rather than regurgitating an established formula, dollop are committed that progression and innovation should be the only constants throughout this residency. As such this second vent is of a completely different tone to its predecessor; inspired by the eleventh month's lengthening shadows November sees dollop turning on the dark.
Border Community's Nathan Fake sets the tempo for the evening, performing live and exploring the unchartered area between Electronica and expansive Techno. Factory Floor, the much discussed trio who forge sparse guitars with sonorous electronics, will also take to the stage. Fresh from the launch of their debut album, Japanese Psych-Metal band Bo Ningen complete this shadowy triptych of live music.
Providing an angular counterpoint to the onstage entertainment, DJ support comes from Numbers mastermind Jackmaster, Rough Trade and dollop's own residents. The second room takes things on an even greater tangent: Hot Boy Dancing Spot, the forward thinking gay night devised by Durr resident The Lovely Jonjo, will provide the ulterior entertainment for dollop's second engagement at Heaven.
