creating riser, pitch modulation?

Post by The Interloper » Sat Nov 06, 2010 3:23 am

Please Ignore this post if someone can direct me towards something already posted about this. Im very new to producing so I apologize if any terms I use are incorrect, I don't mind a little :u: Anyways hopefully those who know more about production can help me out.

I am trying to achieve a build up ("wind up" sound) by automating the pitch of my synth to a higher octave over a few bars. Ive been messing around with massive assigning the pitch to a knob and recording midi data over the track. My question is if this is the way to go about creating that "wind up" sound. If there are other ways to create this same effect please share your thoughts!
