Buying New Headphones

Well i've done some research on headphones and i'm tied between two:

Sennheisers HD25-II
Or
AKG K181 DJ

Have any of you got experience with either? Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.
I mainly listen to dubstep and other electro-style genres; therefore i would like them to have better lows (ATM people are saying AKG's have better lows because of the bass boost feature, however apparently this feature cannot be activated for long periods of time.

More casual use, listening to tracks, producing etc. I need good sound quality with hefty bass (because i'm a bass addict).

there honestly is no be all end all headphone solution as they're all geared and built for different purposes

Thank you for the link, more choices now! I guess finding the right pair for myself is going to be a harder task than i thought.

I just did a ton of research on this. Ended up getting some beyerdynamic dt880 pros, which I like a lot so far, but I don't have any other high quality cans to compare them to, so take that for what it's worth... which isn't much.

I think if I was buying something in the mid-price range prob would nab the akg 240's as mentioned.

Ahh the daily headphone thread. It's tough to get an all in one type headphone. Cans that are good for listening probably won't be good for producing and cans that are good for producing won't be good for djing etc. Maybe you might just look into some Sony's. I'd say good enough to tide you over for a while. The best bass is either going to be like the Beats by Dre or some in-ear style buds. Wouldn't fuck with them in the studio tho. The studio cans liek k240 are pretty boring to listen to but accurate and flat.

Yeah me too. I now have my reference monitors and my dj monitors. I want to build a vintage hi-fi set up just for listening to classic vinyl! Headphones I got my top of the line k702 but use my vintage k240 more because they sound closer to my monitors. Dj cans, old Sony's. I have in-ears for the iPhone.

i just don't like things in my ears unless necessary like ear plugs to preserve my hearing
they could sound like aural sex and i still wouldn't like em

in ear headphones with lots of mp3s is likely to fuck your preception of audio cause of mp3 compression.

I wouldn't use them but I need something at work that fits under my ear muffs. The regular ear buds never stay in the right spot. But the sub is amazing on the in-ears. Love listening to dubstep mixes and shit at work.
