Latency problems, Live + Novation nio 2¦4

Post by Technosaurus » Sun Nov 21, 2010 2:34 pm

Greets all, was playing out the other night and noticed a bit of a drag in audio every now and then. I'm using Live, nio 24, ASIO4ALL drivers and although there were no crackles, every 3/4 minutes there was a small but noticeable amount of latency lasting a second or so.

This has never happened before when producing at home, but has happened once before when playing out, so I'm a lil bit stumped. To be honest, I'm not all that learned when it comes to latency n stuff, when I first got this soundcard I just had a fiddle til it sounded okay. It's just odd to me that this has never happened at home, only when I take my kit out.

I use different leads to connect to the mixer when playing out to the ones I use for connecting to my monitors - could that be the problem? It's not a huge deal insofar that no one except me really noticed (maybe cos the tunes were so bangin :m: ) but it's still something I'd like to sort out. I did a little search on this forum but going through 37 pages of results seems a bit much, especially since I have a feeling it's an easy fix.

Any help would be the bizness. Sound.

Just listened back to a recording I made on the night, no problems when listening back which makes me think it is the lead I was using. That makes sense, right?
