Thats right guy and girls, the long awaited dubstep anthem "Firepower" by DatsiK is out now on Rottun Records.

This epic track has been around for a long time on dub and has been cained around the world by every big name in the scene.

On the flip, fast rising Drum'n'Bass Producer Levela has taken the original and turned it into a drum-step stomper, perfect for chucking in the mix to pick up the pace. (If anyone has seen/heard a Datsik/Excision/Downlink set in the last 9 months, its the remix thats always played after the original)

Edit: I can see that DatsiK just had a track uploaded to Beatport, could Firepower be it? (How you tell: if you follow the artist and you see that they have a new track alert but when you click on the link nothing comes up, you know a track was just uploaded but isn't available for sale. Earlier this week I saw DatsiK, Excision, Noisia and Vision recording all had a "new" releases but nothing came up, and wouldn't you know Alpha Centauri + Remix comes out on Monday.)

Ya I thought that the dnb version was just a VIP, pretty cool that it's getting a release at least.

Agreeeeeeeeeeeed that it's taken way too long though, I remember hearing about this back in fkin January. And "Next couple of months" isn't very soon brah I'd rather get that out in a few weeks instead of Rude Symphony / Darkness (which is also a 15 month-old tune).

Anyways, Sorry for the rant, the Rottun camp's been late on releasing stuff lately which is a shame. BTW Brain Pain / No Games is sick, keep it up.

Fair enough if they want to keep stuff exclusive for their gigs and stuff... for a few months maybe, but surely leaving it this long hurts sales and doesn't really have much advantage? This has always baffled me. I assume their must be a reason, all the big labels do it.

why would people want to get a tune that is so dependent on its novelty, it just gets old so quick, there's no legacy to tracks like these, people that care about this getting a release are lame

I'm gonna say that it's because once a track comes out, a lot of the big DJ/Producer dubplate snobs stop playing it so it doesn't get as much exposure. I agree that in this case it's a bit much since Excision himself didn't even play it in his Shamb set like 5 months ago.

I mean, I'm still gonna pick it up but honestly the original version of Firepower isn't even one of his better tracks anymore. What would be cool is if Rottun or EX7 released an 8-tracker of the stuff he's done in 2010, then it would be more relevant lol. Excision's doing an LP I heard so why not?

It's a shame that tunes like this only hurt the first time you hear m.... after the second round it's just the same old, same old... I know I'm hating, so hate me for that. I'm not impressed
