Diggy Tots - This World

Post by DiggyTots » Tue Dec 14, 2010 1:39 am

Hey y'all.

I'm Diggy Tots, and I produce dubstep. I work with Samurai King to get a mix of hardcore dubstep and smooth melodies. This track was done exclusively by me. Any and all criticism is certainly appreciated!

nice bass riff and sound selection mate, as far as tips go i'd bring the snare out more so it really melts your face! And maybe add some reverb to some of the parts to add a bit of space. overall though good tune man :)

This man speaks truth! Reverb really adds a nice spacey feel to tracks. Thanks for the criticism!

sounding much better mate! if you want another tip what i'd suggest is (if you have your sub seperate to your mid/high bass)cut a bit of low (experiment with 120 - 500 Hz) from your mid/high bass sound just to give it a bit more space and make the overall sound a bit less saturated(turn it down in the mix a bit too, it will help bring out the snare drum). This should automatically bring out the kick a bit more too and enhance the flow of everything together. That's just me being critical though, personal taste is a variable thing :) although i will say you have an ear for dirty sounds :D

Danke sir! The issue with my setup is I am actually mastering on a pair of headphones. Good ones, but still. As for Hz, I work on FL9, and the whole Hertz aspect of it has not made itself apparent as of yet. However, I always try to make a totally full sound with my music, so theres nothing left to be desired. and dirtyness is necessary to me, haha.

I agree about the snare. Love the track though. Wobble is sick as fuck. Sounds way aggressive.

Dopedopedope! Thank you both so much. The updated version is up on soundcloud, I think i'll fuck around a bit more with compressors and overdrives to make the snare jump some mo. :m:
