Just discovered Rob Sparx (+ Rant)

Post by yaga » Thu Dec 16, 2010 2:49 pm

Wow. Fucking wow. I really like this guy's stuff. Picked up some El B, too.

Spent about two hours in the record store just listening to his [Rob Sparx's] stuff & was completely unable to take off the phones.

My favorite record of all time is the South London Boroughs EP, & digging deeper into all this sort of aggressive sounding stuff just gets better & better & better.

Could be that this is all because of the Winter "emotion" but, just wanted to say thanks to the UK for all the great tunes.

Have been getting a bit deeper into "Bass Music" whatever-the-fuck genre & i'm head-over-heels in love.

I gotta say, though... it's hard to find these great records. Even harder than it is to find good American hip-hop (& i live in New York City!).

Hope everyone's having a good day, lol.

Not really. Its raining and very grey and dull. And i had a brick fall on my head from a roof yesterday, so i now have a huge lump with a rather large gash on my forehead. Its painful to say the least. Rob sparx is big though. arcade is the one. love it.

I refuse to believe this when the lower east side has as many record shops as it does.

It has been a few years since I was over there to be fair. Is Generation still about?

Whoa. I'm picturing that scene in that Home Alone movie when the burglars are breaking into that house, lol.

Also love the word Burglar.

It was a lump or mortar really, fell off a roof and as i looked up it clumped me right between the eyes. still bloody hurts. but yea, back to mr sparx. he gave away a tune some time ago, think its called passing through, either way its a big tune, with a sick bassline. always 2nd or 3rd tune in most of my sets...

Ok, sorry to up this thread again, & i won't use this forum for mindless meanderings again, but i seriously just got bitten by the El B bug.

I "experienced" this song for the first time today (on a good system & a good frame of mind, lol), & just have to say there's nothing i've ever heard like this before.

Roxy vs. El B - 2 Bad

What. A. Tune.

EL B- express. Classic, timeless masterpiece. Also Deekline- Don't smoke. Those two tunes are the ones I have been rinsing of late proper dug um out and am loving em again.
Bass music lover since day dot.
