What are the quintessential dubstep tunes?

Post by accomplice » Wed Mar 28, 2007 2:35 am

To my knowledge, dubstep has yet to be played by any dj in Seoul. Because of this, when I play out, I want to make sure that I give the crowd the quintessential dubstep; the pure, concentrated essence and embodiment of dubstep in one mix. What tunes would you include in such a mix?

My first dubstep purchase right there. Didn't know it was dubstep at the time, just thought it was a choooone. Still sounds fresh to my ears.

Anything on Hyperdub/Tempa or DMZ and you can't go far wrong

Knowledge - Toasty (Hotflush). This tune just gets better with time and it was great to start with.

The very most qunintessentialist riddim, for me, is Ancient Memories by Mystikz, not the rmx. Stunning track. I wish it were played more.

I don't know what the dance music scene is like at all in S. Korea, is there much DnB or House or Techno or Breaks or anything?

Good luck you sound like a true frontline pioneer. Tell us how everything goes.
