Carnage Vancouver Dubstep

Post by CarnageVancouver » Thu Dec 23, 2010 8:28 pm

Hey, I've very recently been producing Dubstep but i've been playing/producing other styles of music for a long time.
Some feedback on my production would be greatly appreciated.
I'll be more than happy to return the favor.

Im down with mash-ups that are well done, which this one is dont get me wrong. Personally i was really feelin the ms.jackson vibe off the start, and when the beat dropped it took me back to another time and place, but it was so sick it was like it took me somewhere i'd been, but hadnt. With the switch up though it kind of broke the emotion for me to be honest, i think if you fully developed this track with the outkast sample from beginning to end it could be 10x deeper. Its got that heavy vibe to it that ive been all about lately, and one way or another its a deep track and much respect for the work. But like i said i just feel the effect could be more... whole, if you didnt switch the flow to the gangsterness overtop of the slowjamness (i loves me some west coast gangster ish and it went well with the beat but it just felt like it clashed a bit).

Either way im gonna cop myself a DL because that main beat struck a chord with me. Thanks for the stellar work =D

Hey man, thanks for the feedback

You know what, i feel you on that completely. Very valid. I actually did try to make a full song out of the ms jackson sample but some of the flows big boi and andre do are a little off and they didn't sound great with drum patterns i was using so i just scrapped it. I'm sorry that the samples clashed for you, because my intention was to contrast eachother. It was meant to get progressively harder
Slow jamz<hard drop<gangster<harder drop<someone dying
If that helps explain my decision.

But anyways, thanks and I hope to hear more of your opinion in the future.

Peace
