Quick Question...
How do you guys approach the beginning of the production of a new sound? (preferably in NI Massive)...I started a new project and I have the structure of the song in mind, but when I begin working on a new wobble sound I keep finding myself reinitializing the patch and starting over again...I usually end up finding a cool noise and then build up on it but right now I keep heading into a wall when I am trying to create a new sound in Massive. I just wanted to know if anyone else is in my situation right now or has been...Any thoughts or techniques on how to approach creating a new sound? (besides smokin herb cuz I got that covered)
Re: Quick Question...
1. Make sound in massive that sounds good,
2. Try external processing (distortion, filtering etc) does it sound better? if so, good if not try again
Think that's your question? sorry it's a bit vague what you are trying to achieve

Re: Quick Question...
Yah that's pretty vague bro...I do all those things but I end up having too many effects or the sound just goes down the wrong path so I end up resetting the patch. I guess it's harder this time because I don't have a sound already in my head, I'm just trying to make a sound that blends with a song that I'm remixing.
Re: Quick Question...
There is no trick or technique to the approach. You open up your VST of choice and go to work. If you got something good going, you keep going. If it turns out to be shit, start over. That's pretty much the process, and I would guess it's the same process for everyone pretty much.

Re: Quick Question...
i dunno to be fair, i usually get an idea of a sound first, and generally know the way to produce a basic version on it first. The tweaking and twiddling comes after this and for me is the make or break part of the synth.

Re: Quick Question...
yeah i agree with you, but for this one I don't have an idea of a sound--I'm basically improvising in Massive and hoping I can create a sound that fits well with the remix I want...then again I could be forcing something that is going nowhere, but I really want to make my remix of the song.
