Just spotted this on Drum&BassArena, exciting stuff for vinyl heads!
The people behind Leicester's longest running drum & bass night Genetic brings you a brand new urban music & clothing store opening in Leicester city centre, situated within 2 min walk of the clock tower, full details will be announced soon!
D.N.A Records & Clothing is a brand new store located in the centre of Leicester which opens its doors in January 2011, The shop offers a very old skool approach which we felt only right with solo listening booths as well as a full pa option, high retro style counters and a funky decor to match, We will be offering the latest in Drum & Bass and Dubstep as well as collectable and second hand sections. Yeah its a shame about 2funky, just don't bother going in there anymore
Rockaboom's gotten a bit better in recent months, and you can often get new bits on Tempa, Hyperdub, Black Acre, Lo Dubs and a couple of other labels in there, problem is it's just very hit and miss! Lets hope this new place steps up to the mark!

Second both of these! half the time its not really worth checking rockaboom unless ya in the area! plus im sick of orderin dubz off the net an them coming bare scratched least ill be able to pick these mo fo's up! best of luck to the shop! any info on whos runnin the joint?

nice to hear, sounds like it's got some good stock
it's a shame how so many in birmingham have closed
it was good to hear hq muzik open after tempest closed down but still barely any places left

I've sent the guy an email inquiring about how much of the shop is going to be dedicated to new releases, I'm hoping it's a lot as that's what is really needed! Will post back when I get a response.

in two minds, had every intention too i then did a bit of research and found people really only use chemical and red eye, it seems its hard to generate sales from a site, which i found annoying hard to believe but its a costly experiment so will open up and then look at it again after a few months

Hope it works out but given Drops experience in Bath they would be wise to focus as much on the clothing range bongs etc as on the records. Hope its no shoe string budget for the vinyl either as its never good when shops are low on stock thats the whole reason these online shops are so popular bcos you can usually get every record you want in one transaction

ez rob, yeah were a record shop no 1, but will have a good section on exclusive clothing not stocked in leicester and the smoking range will be bigger than my main competitors, i WILL be stocking a good selection on new releases, of course wont have every new release like a website would but will have EVERY DECENT new release a website has if you catch my drift! im not going to go mad and stock the shop with piles of shit, admitidly the dubstep side of it will grow as the shop progresses but fuly intend on stocking QUALITY new releases thats for sure, as well as a good 2nd hand seciton and collecable section i like to think any vinyl lover will right on it
pass by rob well have to talk abotu stocking ur labels releases.
