sounds more like a sawtooth waveform with a low pass filter down just a bit to cut off some upper harmonics, but you will get more help if you post in the appropriate thread

Oh cool, first time I've heard a James Blake tune I really liked, terrible1fi's answer sounds like a good starting point to me. Thanks for the thread, even if you just posted it to ask a question, because I was never that into James Blake's stuff till this tune, now I feel like giving him more of a chance and sitting down to listen to more of his work.

he definitely uses that thin organ sound a lot. i wonder if its a sample or an actual organ possibly. ...

initial sound in this track sounds like a piano/organ sample, the sound in most his tracks definitely sound like a synth though.

I heard him on gilles petersen on radio 1 aaaages ago talking about that organ sound... he was speaking about it in reference to a james brown track with an organ in which inspired him to rinse that sound... cnt remember if he said he sampled it or not tho.
