Then why didn't you post in that thread?
This track sucks, its bassline is garbage, and theres a disclaimer in the comments, says "15 year old producer"
Is that like their excuse for being lousy at it, or bragging about their progress thusfar...?
Anyways, use subtractor's FM knob. in very small amounts. Assign the mod envelope to FM amount, just a little bit, with a long decay.

Bass is nothing special, not the point, after reading this I'm having a laugh at the fact that a lot of you guys are calling the tune out on whatever you can, kid is 15, Given the results of the brostep competition I'd hold my tongue about wee fifteen year olds making music you can't or just don't like, no one asked you to come rage.
I've never heard this kid before but it really just sounds exactly like flux pavilion, not impressive or inspiring, but that bass sound is a bit of fun.
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE REAAAAAASSSSSOOONNN THOOUUGHHHH
Nice day, all.

theres no sub, the mid patch is way too loud, I don't like annoying sounds sustained over several bars without rhythm, there's basically no mix to speak of here
It's a poor attempt. It's ok, I've made several, and I'm sure to make several more.

I do alright without it, I have it laying in the box somewhere abouts though, maybe someday.

Lol, nah, it doesn't.
Kid's better than I was back then, then again its a bit easier nowadays to start slapping together bro tunes cuz of new sample packs, PCs, warez, tuts etc. Lots of folks rushing to be the next to smash the dance floor and they haven't the background in making records.
They need to not only read, but experience the stuff in the moneyshot thread.

I said its too loud ;]
Don't nix it, MIX it!
Plenty of mid-bass patches in bro tunes i like, are mixed carefully atop the sub so that it draws attention and color to the bassline without crushing the spectrum with drill sounds.

Also, in regards to the mid "wobble" it just doesnt wobble enough, its a tease. More depth please. I like it when they are on the shallow side in the mids so there's some sustain but this one needs to go deeper so its more rhythmic.
And put a plate or something on the snare,
then we're gettin' there

It really does, I'm not sure how you think it doesn't, but that doesn't matter.
Ultimately I agree with you, there are presets floating around everywhere and it's not too hard to get anything that a lot of bigger producers have. All that really means is saturation and then drought, I'm not complaining, let them have their presets and shit mastered tracks, Objectively the track isn't a bad track though, there are things that could be better, but if I just threw a sub on it and dropped it I'm sure it'd get a halfway decent reaction, which means that these kids are doing exactly what they should be whilst cashing in, doing it half arsed and getting up for it anyway.
