This night is an excuse to play dubstep on a proper sound system (naturally

), and to expose the new sounds of local and international producers who are making fresh and exotic bass-heavy 21st-century dub music.

Komodo Dubs premieres Thursday April 5th and will be happening on the first Thursday of every month at Club Academy, 4445 St-Laurent Blvd in Montreal.

The night is hosted by residents Komodo and DJ Hosta, and features a guest DJ every month who brings their own take on the dub sound, be it roots reggae, dancehall, grime, drum'n'bass, dub techno or something else that is so heavy and new it doesn't even have a name yet.

Guests:

April 5th - Nils Fluck: Dub Electronic

May 3rd - Sweet Anomaly: Dubstep, Dancehall, etc.

June 7th - Intoccabile/Fyutchaflex: Grime, Dubstep

Yeah, wax would be great... Hard to pull off in Mtl though, what with dubstep being still so underground here. I also like digital dubs 'cause I can finish a track an hour before a show (as I'm doing right now

) and then drop it in my set...
