Effects on NI massive bass

Post by SleplessDreamer » Sun Jan 02, 2011 2:49 pm

So basically i get on fl studio 9 make a drum beat, and start to begin a intro then drop etc, but everytime i try and make my bass i just end up making the same wobble all the time, i have bitcrusher but that does'nt tend to help much, i'm a begginer producer and was wondering about some vst's/effects that i could download and use to change the sound of my bass and to make it different and unique.

try the Fruity HitMaker. just put in a genre and it writes the leads for you.

Get on you tube search for tutorials make the patches save them then make your own from what youve learnt
Dont bother downloading loads of vsts limit yourself to one synth learn it back to front

try starting off with a single oscillator and route a macro to the wavetable/cutoff/res etc..
this can give your sounds a bit more character rather than just throwing on 3 oscillators and getting a horrible mess in return..

also, if you want to bitcrush then route it before the filter to get it a bit cleaner.

try moving the inserts around the filters with certain effects and also change the voices a bit to see if it has a good or bad effect on a sound.

I've just started a new track using Massive alone for all the sounds and nothing else, no outside vsts etc..
Just trying to limit any un-needed processing, which slows me down alot i find.
