It does matter, it annoys me when people call it dub, especially when it's the stuff that has no or not alot of elements of dub in in it.

Yes your right I guess it does matter a bit but for the most part it just seems to be one of those pointless things people over the internet love getting irate about when there really is no need.

Meh, if the context doesn't provide any clarification, fine. But if people are clearly talking about dubstep artists and call it 'dub', who cares? They get what they're talking about. You get what they're talking about. No point of worrying about it.

Everyone repeatedly uses the wrong word for something without realizing. I don't get my panties in a twist because everyone is calling electro house 'electro' even though I've been into proper electro since the age of 14.

i for one would like to know i am calling something the right thing rather than something completely different. everytime somebody uses the word dub, they dont say thanks the clarification i see, they go you know what i meant you pretentious dickhead this is the name everyone uses for it blah blah blah

half of it is actually the attitude of the people.

If somebody called you by a name that wasn't your own, you still know they are addressing you but you would still correct them. Unless it's like your Grandad or something, in which case they can get away with it.

Exactly, and that's never gonna change. So I've just found peace with that.
