Post by counterpart » Fri Jan 07, 2011 2:16 am

If you love your Dubstep and Grime then it would be a good idea to head down to L!VE on Light square on the 22nd January. And if you witnessed the insanity that was Borgore just recently then you will undoubtedly know that we throw a good party.

Chris Reed, also known as The Plastician is one of the UK’s biggest Grime and Dubstep export’s and with tracks featured on many of scenes defining compilations he is considered one of Grime’s true innovators. The first to marry the vocal sound of UK grime with the instrumental nature of Dubstep, Plastician has established himself internationally as one of the scenes biggest touring DJ’s.

He connects east London grime to the south London dubstep scenes as a DJ and producer from Thornton Heath in the London borough of Croydon. His participation in the Rephlex Grime compilations, his primetime pirate radio shows on Rinse FM and his recent BBC Radio One Residency slot on the 'In New DJs We Trust' show have contributed to the rise in popularity of dubstep and grime. The Plastician has released records on labels such as Rephlex Records, Soulja, ROAD, Slimzos, A.R.M.Y. and Southside Dubstars. He also runs his own label; Terrorythm Recordings and will be bringing us the kind of late night performance where you wear your sunglasses, a towel and prepare to have your insides thumped right out of your chest.

'Plastician was what got me into dubstep AND grime for real, and I think he remains my favourite producer in the scene, for the combination of three reasons: 1) Because he kind of falls in both and at the same time neither scene and 2) His stuff is genuinely weird, it goes all over the place, mashes up strange samples, makes use of crazy synths and patches that no one else does and 3) is totally geared around making people DANCE.' - Kid Kameleon

Support - Counterpart, Jayar, Moshman, Skippy and MC DJ Royal B.
