I'd look into the Denon DNS-700 if you can't afford pioneer, they're typically known as the second best make. Despite the old Numark reputation i've heard pretty good things about their new NDX series too.

I've looked into Denons before, 700s' tend to be a rarity in the UK for some reason :/
