So as we move into 2011 we are pleased to announce our first release will be a solo 12" from Lysergene, which is scheduled to hit stores late Feb / early March. We will post audio once the tracks have been mastered, but if your a fan of Headhunter and Kryptic Minds then this release is one for your bag.

Free music, guest mixes and forthcoming release are the order of the day.
If you head over to either the dubs forum or our website - www.arearecordings.com - there is a free track from Be-1ne available for download. Along with this you'll find a guest mix from Krytikal taken from the Sub.FM xmas special with more info about him and forthcoming guest mixes and music.

As we approach the end of our first year we will be saying good bye to the old and hello to the new by marking this occasion with a new 12" from Be-1ne. (Not Lysergene as previously scheduled) Audio for the tracks is still under wraps, but we can assure you there is a healthy dose of sub with this one.

We're a little slow off the mark this week with the news, but here is a quick update. Firstly, get yourself over to our site and grab this wicked free mix from Æon (click here) If your a fan of futuristic bleeps, 808's and bass then this is a sure fire winner for you. Some truely big tunes in the mix and definitely a man to keep an eye on.

Also we have audio from the a side of the next Be-1ne 12" online. Currently it is of the original demo version. Both tracks for the release we're mastered this week and sounded seriously heavy, keeping with Be-1ne's ethos for his release's the b-side is a brand new track yet to be played anywhere.! Once the masters are back we will make a proper thread and finished audio.

With ARE004 due out in 10days time, we will be updating our website and dsf post with links, for the followers we've gained, thanks for the support and keep an eye out for the record to start appearing in stores over the next week.

Just in case you've been dwelling under a rock this past week, Be-1ne's and D-Cult's getdarker sets are now online at the getdarker youtube channel and the getdarker website. Both set's Show a lot of scope for this music we call dubstep while retaining their individual flavors as DJ's the vast scope of their productions is evident.

These mixes also serves as a good warm up for their back to back set next friday - 1/4/11 at Sub Squad in Southend-on-sea, with Be-1ne in the studio cooking up new tracks to drop for the occasion, and from what we've heard here he looks set to have firmly pushed the Area sound forward highlighting his individual approach to music making and why he is definitely a forward thinking producer to watch out for this year. D-Cult is a key man to watch out for this year, refining his sound and pushing his production forward with music forthcoming on Area we along with the other labels he's working with can't praise his style enough, clearly putting himself in a position for his music to stand out amongst his peers.
