How musical are you? (test)

Post by 3za » Tue Jan 11, 2011 2:13 am

Just did this test;
https://www.bbc.co.uk/labuk/experiments/musicality/

Here are my scores;

Enthusiasm: 73% (I think it's way more)
Musical perception: 94% (I was think I would be more around the 70-80% mark)
Emotional connection: 6% (WTF I know im not that emotional of a guy, but I would at least like a 50%+ score)
Social creativity: 72% (Thats fair, Im one of the worst people to work with ever, but I do think of myself as a creative guy)
Musical curiosity: 14% (come on now, I listen to so much differnet stuff, and all my tracks sound like they are made by a different person, I should be 80% +)

Go do it, and post your results here so we can all compare.

Peace,
3za.

Some of the question are a bit funny, like do you use music forums/blogs? -q-

The bit I liked the best was the melodies, and were you have to group the clips.

I got everything low except musical perception which was medium 56%. I guess the question: "could you imagine your life without music" was worth a lot of %`s.

...well i should have taken this test about a decade ago and not waste my time on trying to be a fucking musician or whatever it is I am doing!

More or less yea, musical perception is something i know i need to work on. Emotional connection i thought would be a lot higher.

For the group the music test, i wasnt far off

Match the beat, 14 out of 18 right

Tap to the beat, 4 high, 3 medium and 2 low

Melody Memory, 6 right, 6 wrong.

In the groups I got 1 the wrong way round

Match the beat, 17 out of 18 right

Tap to the beat, 6 high, 2 medium and 1 low

Melody Memory, 10 right, 2 wrong.
:5:

Try doing some interval training, I use to do it daily, but ain't done it for over a year now. Really helped me with being able to pick out melodies from songs.
