Like, all my friends at school are into it now, and that really wouldn't be a bad thing at all; the only problem is that they all like the kind that totally sucks. I'm in no place to be a snob about any of this, given that I discovered the genre during the summer of 2009 via Caspa and Rusko's Fabriclive 37, and I don't think there's anything wrong with heavier varieties of dubstep when done right, but everyone I know is listening to this incredibly stupid 'youtube dubstep' shit that isn't really interesting and has no discernible sub bass. It's like, you can't just take any random-ass sample and half-ass some half-time beat and lfo-to-cutoff and you're mix material.
Oh yeah, they also all fucking love deadmau5. I can't say I liked him before he was cool, but I heard of him before he was cool, and I don't really see what's so great about him or the music he makes. Bastard's like some kind of pied piper, rounding up all the childrens. But I digress.
So uh, is there some kind of way I can show them the kinds of dubstep that aren't terrible? Like, is there some way I can subtly get that "you can't just take any random sample..." stuff I just typed into their heads, or will I have to just bring a boombox or something blasting old Loefah tunes with me next time I see them?

Make a mix, burn CDs, then distribute them around the school.
