easy dubstep tracks to emulate
Hey, im new to production and new to dubstep aswel, and im wanting to find some artists and tracks that would be good to learn from, im not so much into the wobble bass dubstep and more into i think you would call it minimal, i have bought i scuba album and have a couple of singles and a mount kimbie ep and thats the extent of my collection at the minute, but i have found that i am more comfortable making more dubstep beats than any other genre, and am wanting some artists who would be good to emulate to learn from with not too complicated beats and structures, i have enjoyed some ramadanman and the scuba album but i thought scubas percussion and beats were a bit too complicated at this minute, anyway i just wondered if you could point me in the right direction.
Re: easy dubstep tracks to emulate
Always a good idea to try copy drum programming and patches.
Wicked simple rhythm and an easy bass patch.

Some nice bass here that should be fun to try and copy

Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

Don't want to start a discussion, emulating can definately learn you alot, but I'd also recommend experimenting. Just see what you come up with.

True. But having an aim can give you direction instead of mindlessly moving things. I would also suggest playing with the same synth (the most basic you can find) and learn it inside out. You need to know whatever dial/slider does!Project EX wrote:Don't want to start a discussion, emulating can definately learn you alot, but I'd also recommend experimenting. Re: easy dubstep tracks to emulate
ye i have been just doin what i want, which has been fun but there are certain things i want to learn, like rythms, and also my background in music isnt in dance and the music i naturally make isnt what i want to make if you know what i mean, so im starting from scratch. And im sure that whilst i may be emulating i wont be copying, because firstly im not good enough and secondly I do want to find my own feet and style eventually.
Serox thanks for your input i will check it out when i have more than five minutes to spare .thanks mate

Re: easy dubstep tracks to emulate
Already tried to do it. ill see if I can find what I called the track. It is a nightmare to mix the 12" because the snare hit is in a weird place.wub wrote:serox wrote:Always a good idea to try copy drum programming and patches.
