Yeah, so as the subject said, I have no idea what I am doing, but I am very interested in learning.
For the past few weeks i've been listening to dubstep on youtube and I like what I hear, and then it got me thinking that i'd like to have a go.

So, pretty much, I need the basics..
- I need a good piece of software, something affordable, simple enough to use, and something that might have a lot of youtube tutorials.
- Hardware (if any is needed?)
- Where to get samples and what not I suppose, because what I really like is some of these remix songs I see Youtube, and i'd like to be able to try one of these once i've worked out some basics, so yeah, where do you get separate audio samples from songs?
*EDIT* - Also, dunno how hard it is, but how do you 'create' a sample, say I wanted to pull a quote from a song or movie and use it a song?
- Umm, and pretty much anything else that you think a beginner should know, or perhaps a link to a good site or something for noobs.

Cheers all.

Sorry for another noob thread, you guys are probably sick of them, but I am keen to get into shit and make something cool.

:strooper: <<< this, btw, I think is awesome.

welcome to the forum. i'd suggest reading the production forum stickees first. that will take you a good few days, but will give you an idea. i'd also read the wikipedia, where you can get a list of several starting points with producers. also check out itunes, that has dubstep lists. figuring out which style you like is the difficult part.
