Lead bassline beefing help

Post by tbunreal » Tue Feb 01, 2011 3:19 am

So this is the track I'm working on right now:
Soundcloud
The 2 second intro is there just to have some sort of build up and I'm aware there is no sub bass this doesn't concern me right now.

Anyways the lead synths sound OK but lack a certain UMF or "beefyness" I was wondering if anyone has any tips on doing so. Any audio effects I could be using or any techniques. I'm not looking for some magical answer and if pointed in the right direction I rather be told what to learn aside from just being told. Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime or so the saying goes.

Thanks in advance.

Try it with a sub bass, and read the stickies.

It will add the plate and flank you require.

Sorry do you mean the work in progress? I'm not really looking for critiquing.

Well, your kind of beating a dead horse by starting this thread. The best pointer your gonna get is to read the stickies at the top of the production page. Notably the "How to create the ever popular midrange bass" one.

Ok, sorry, I didn't really see anything explaining exactly what I was looking for.

This is dubstep, of course subs are what give stuff its beef, its a sub-bass driven sound.

For other bass help, see this thread.
