Film ID please...
Came out about 6 months ago. dark film about an ex soldier starring Christian Bale, proper brilliant dark film but cannot think of name...?
yeah man, ''the jacket'' kicks ass too, not as good as ''jacobs ladder'' though. i like darren aronofski's films too. cant wait to see ''the fountain''Misk wrote:dont know if this is the one, but that movies dark! i dig it... even more than "the jacket"dj slums wrote:is he really thin? - fucks up somones hand in a machine?
''the machinist''
Caught this over the weekend, really well acted but got the feeling that it could have done with a bit of editing - watched the first hour and seemed to be pretty much nothing going on apart from two guys getting ripped and driving about.
Did this get much hype in the states? Not much of a film buff but never even heard of it over here. Was wondering as in times of war PTSD isn't something that really gets advertised too much.
Found something out the other week about military films - if film makers want to get permission to use US forces equipment (tanks, ships, helicopters, etc) they have to provide 4 copies of the script to the Pentagon to check for any anti-war, anti-military references and then when the film's completed, if it contains any similar sentiments, the Pentagon can insist on it being edited to have them removed or stop the release.
Very sly propaganda war going on there

My mate is in "the Jacket" as a hispanic GI. For some reason they filemd a bunch of the desert warfare scenes in a quarry in Scotland somewhere! If you look out, he is the gunner on one of the Hum-vees.dj slums wrote:yeah man, ''the jacket'' kicks ass too, not as good as ''jacobs ladder'' though. i like darren aronofski's films too. cant wait to see ''the fountain''Misk wrote:dont know if this is the one, but that movies dark! i dig it... even more than "the jacket"dj slums wrote:is he really thin? - fucks up somones hand in a machine?
