~SOMEJERK~ [Pattern Awareness / Miami Dubstep] FL
John Gregory II, better known as somejerk, has been pushing bass music in South Florida for a number of years now, but three years ago he began pushing dubstep. Despite much resistance from purists, he was on a mission to push the sound that he believed in, helping to organize the first dubstep events in Florida as well as playing at just about every event from Miami, to Ft Lauderdale to Tampa and Orlando. During this time, he has honed his production skills, manifesting a unique dubstep style that incorporates elements of drumnbass, jungle, IDM, downtempo, garage, house and Baltimore club as well as releasing 8 promotional mixes to much acclaim from listeners.
Now that the sound is popular, he’s become one of the most in demand Florida DJs, playing at nearly every weekly and monthly event. He has headlined local and out of state events, touring through New York, Massachusettes and almost every major city in Florida, as well as sharing line ups with the following heavyweights:
Skream, Mala, Joker, Hatcha, Plastician, 16bit, DZ, Reid Speed, Noah D, Trill Bass, U-Ome (Hoodz), Otto Von Schirach, Hydraulix, LTJ Bukem, Ed Rush and Optical, AK1200, A-Sides, Baby Anne, Exzakt, Wreck, Hydroz (Hydraulix), Will Miles, Tha Substitutes, Juan Basshead, Atlantic Connection, Dieselboy, Trace, Stunna, Amaning and many others from many different bass music scenes.
With no end to his frantic booking schedule in sight, somejerk’s DJ sets journey into territories that no other selector may wander, mixing dubstep with garage, UK Funky and house, progressing into modern jungle and drum & bass.

~SOUNDKEEPERS~ [Code Of Arms / Filthy Digital / N.E.B.A.] NY,RI
Soundkeepers, which was conceived as a two-person Electro DJ/producer team evolved in 2010 to become the solo, mainly Dubstep, project of Ricky Medina. Although mixes and sets will include house music of all sorts where appropriate, Ricky plans to focus most of his energy on his blooming collection of Dubstep productions. With original tracks pending release from the labels Filthy Digital Recordings and Code of Arms Records in early 2011, he is clearly on the right track. It is, after all, hard to expect anything else from someone who, from a very young age, has experienced all the richness and intensity of the New York City nightlife. To be sure, the heaviness and grandeur of his urban roots influence his productions which tend to be huge, body-shaking melodic bangers. His love for all things below 80hz, however, expands past that description with productions of all sorts including tech house, electro house, and more agressive Dubstep tunes. At the end of the day one thing is clear, 2011 and beyond will be the age of Soundkeepers, so look out for this guy’s tunes in a club near you.

~MIKE SKILLZ~ [N.E.B.A. / Bass Embassy / Dubstep.fm] MA
Mike Skillz is the tsunami of the dubstep movement in New England, and the wreckage is still being calculated. He has been spinning for 15 years, and has been pushing his unique style for decades. His fantastic abilities as a selector and DJ have propelled him into events across the northeast. The ability to dominate genres (filth, dubstep, electro, tech house, fidget) and rock dance-floors, electrifies every crowd and keep them banging for more. His progressive controllerism and old school vinyl roots bring a special taste to every eardrum. Mike Skillz is a proud member of the New England Bass Alliance (NEBA), Audio Infantry, and 1 half of the amazing contingent “Binary Beatdown”. When Mike Skillz steps up to the decks, are destroyed. Make sure to check out Mike Skillz on BASSFACE RADIO every other Sunday 8pm - 10pm (EST) only on dubstep.fm
