Geez, I better stop!
Percussion is 1/2 of the equation for me, on equal footing with bass imo
Nothing like something that makes you swing you hips

Re: Best Percusionist
I think Shackleton dons it out quite hard on the percussion side of things, especially how he gets that very acoustic, hypnotic element down to a tee. Also have to say Ramadanman, you just have to listen to Blimey to know

Re: Best Percusionist
I think it pretty hard to argue with Ramadanman's drum patterns. Also thought the percussion throughout Jack Sparrow - Circadian is sublime. And for a less obvious shout, Coleco's drums are SICK!
pretty much this!fractal wrote:...Percussion is 1/2 of the equation for me, on equal footing with bass....

Re: Best Percusionist
dont think so. Are you saying this after buying the Aria EP? some nice percussion work on that 1. hopefully he will keep hanging around with icicle and make some 140 with himdr hugo wrote:Rockwell, has he made anything around 140?
Re: Best Percusionist
Or on a different note Hackman always comes correct. So much swing in both there tracks!Staley wrote:I think L.D. takes the cake for this one.

Mala, Shackleton, T++
Re: Best Percusionist
Gotta be Burial, Synkro or Joy Orbison for me. Most of Joy's stuff is quite simplistic but really effective
Re: Best Percusionist
obviously shackleton, death is not final in particular. He works with live percussionists on tunes too.
