[Feedback] Whyrez - Oracle Bone

Post by wirez » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:41 pm

Ancient sounding dark UKG track sent from the desolate lands of the Future. Represents a message sent from a shamanistic oracle from the future warning the past to change their ways. / This track will be featured on the Dual Signal Records compilation 'Future Signals'!

Please share around if you enjoy! :D:

If you'd like feedback returned: Please leave a link to your thread after your message :corndance:

Not really sure how I feel about this one to be honest mate. I mean, I quite like it and I like what you were trying to do with it but I feel like it's lacking something post drop that I can't put my finger on. Like it needs some other element to be totally complete... :\ The track is good, just not as awesome as a lot of stuff I've heard from you, sorry dude!

Hey man, thank you for the honest feedback that really is highly appreciated :) I can definitely see what you're saying, it's pretty different as is from my usual complex stuff, and just for confirmation - what was is about to happen from the fade out does bring in a lot more elements such as a balafon playing improvised melodies over the basslines.

The track (as heard) is intended to be on a system vibe whereby you're in a club and you can hear the melodic introduction of this track coming in and then all of a sudden there's a contrasting 'drop' (as in the DJ technique as opposed to musical structure) that switches into the solid bassline on the 'drop' (as in musical structure -w-), from there is where I begin to bring more elements and complexity, such as the pitch enveloped bassline!

Haha see, I think Kron gets it :) You can always make a new version of that past you remember man!

It's definitely more of a club system vibe this one, think early Dubstep I guess?

Beautiful strung orchestral chords/bows in the intro, the way youve layed them creates alot of tension in between each burst of the sound...

Very nice rhythm, almost fealt like you could have held the hihats back a bit until after the main drop to up the impact of them, but, where they sit now, they're in a prime spot for DJ's, so, its a double-edge sorta thing, changing them.

Subs pretty solid too, didnt become 100% my point of focus, just complimented everything, very good thing.

Im just bored but you know if you wanna type me into the search bar, Ill happily take any feedback you give lol. Doubtful I have anything new up you havent heard though.
