Based in the secluded town of Brastsk in mysterious Russia, Morocha emerges in to the world with his intensely diverse debut EP; Siberia. Having been influenced by the amazing sounds of artists such as Vaccine, Burial and Untold, Morocha takes the experimental side of electronica to a new realm of unique perfection.
As soon as the pure synths open the title track Siberia, you can hear the influence that Burial has had on Morocha. The eerie sweeps and angelic vocals meld together perfectly with the two-step beat and will play tricks with your mind. This track is an emotional masterpiece.
Mira’s sweet melodies will put you in to a trance and take you to a far off place, hidden away in the back corners of your consciousness. The ethereal pads blended with the delayed drums and crushed percussion will make you never want to leave this state of mind.
The third piece off of the EP, Limb takes a turn down a dark path and you will hear Morocha’s shadowy feelings played out. The middle-eastern instrument’s melodies will send shivers up your spine and the panning vocals will play cruel tricks on your intuitions.
The rulebook is thrown out the window for an intense ride called Watchmaker. This track shows that Morocha is an amazingly diverse artist that can write a heavier dark piece but still keeps his unique melodies and emotive control on the listener’s psyche. One to destroy dance-floors and minds alike.
Last but not least, the highly esteemed artist Ital Tek takes Mira apart and creates an amazing piece of his own. There’s misleading melodies, a fast paced two-step beat and an epic build which will drop you into the euphoric body of the track which will leave you in stunned amazement.
Morocha will be a name to remember this year.
