Free dubstep vocal preset?

Post by Juzzy » Sun Mar 06, 2011 3:16 am

I have been searching for a dubstep preset for Massive and i cant seem to find a free one. I want one so my basslines sound more like Skrillex's.

Update:

Im thinking about using the itchy synth pack for the background and then could i do the voices using Massive?

Synth1 is a free synth not a massive patch
you would be better off using synth1 than a pirated massive...

This entire forum is making me wanna quit anything that has to do with dubstep. I swear 89% of the members are other members making jokes.

aww somebody's been bullied...

at op, yeah I was completely bsing you about itchy synths. they aren't bad by any means but not the golden ticket. truth is no one on this forum will give you the exact skrillex/(insertnamehere) sound you want, because no one knows the answer plus if they did don't you think they would be out banking instead of sharing secrets

and Synth1 is a good freeware synth don't hate.

to answer your question. if you are using massive. turn on a osc to modern talking tune it down to -12/-24 assign lfo 5 to the cutoff and now you're wobbling, add a bitcrusher and/or distortion and now you're talking...just in a very stereotypical way...

next time read the stickies before posting I wanna sound like ___ and no one will give you problems .

Good luck on your magical journey of double rainbows and bass all the way across the sky.

actually automate the Wavetable the mod talking osc.

but please dont. this is not how skrillex makes his bass's and it just results in a really corny version of his.

you don't need massive to do that style of bassline.
you don't need bitcrushers.
you don't need wavetables, especially not with an LFO hooked to them.

all you need is a fucking vocoder with a formant filter. make a badass bassline, and at some point use a vocoder automating the formant setting on one of the parts of your bassline. you'd still have to resample a lot to get close to skrillex, datsik, excision or whatever. resampling as in exporting many many differently effected and automated basslines, cutting out the parts that you like and piecing them back together in a nice way. it's like chopping up breakbeats, really.

forget massive, start thinking outside the box.

nah man just never experienced some of the shit you see in dubstep production forums. Making music isn't about being cool. Imagine what the music would be like if people used new ideas not tried to copy people. I know a lot of music comes from others trying to copy someone but this has become rediculous.
