Hi!
I'm gonna buy new monitors, Adam A7X, but I read somewhere that for those with a little "home studio" it's better to go with the A5X + a sub. My room is roughly measured:
2.35m(height) x 3.45m(width) x 3.60m(length).
So what would you recommend me to do? My budget is about 1500$
Cheers!

Bump. Some more views on this please? I'm getting either an A5X or A7X but I'm gonna be living with roommates with small rooms. Which means.. not tooo much noise or bass, so I'm best off getting A5X right?
I don't know how the isolation in my room will be, but I'll probably be moving frequency anyway.

Both of you, get the A7X if you can afford them. Don't compromise your monitoring capabilities for the sake of your neighbors.

A8X or go home. There's not much of a price difference between the A7X and the A8X but the A8X sound much better. You don't even need a sub with these. They sound amazing. Perfect clear highs, great full mids, and incredible bass!
Save the money from not buying a sub and put it towards the A8X.
Definitely worth it. Or if you really can't afford the A8X get the A7X's. Don't even consider the A5's for bass heavy music. You'll regret not buying the bigger ones later.

Don't get a sub unless your room is treated. It'll only make more problems when you come to mixing. Besides, your room isn't really large enough to handle the size (length) of any of the waves that a sub will be pushing out, so it would be a waste of time and money.
I've got the A7X, and can't say a bad thing about them. As someone already mentioned, very clear highs (possibly a little 'forward' but you can turn the tweeter gain down a little if you find that too), nice mids, and nice tight bass that goes a fair bit lower than you'd expect.
If you're mixing bass heavy music e.g. House/ Garage/ Dnb/ Dubstep etc, then a 5 inch woofer will be useless. You'd be surprised how much of a difference 2-3 inches will make to a woofers. Haven't used the A8X so couldn't say how much better they are, but i'd say go with the 7 or 8... Just don't get the sub. Lol
