[FEEDBACK] Pineapple Express (Dubstep, WIP)

Post by TheBrownie » Sat Mar 12, 2011 4:52 pm

Hey guys, I need info on where to go from here and how to make the drop heavier, I've never worried about making a drop heavy or anything but when I heard Dubba Jonny's songs...they blew me away. How did he get them so heavy?! Anyway, please leave feedback.

Soundcloud

This is my third song I believe and I think I'm actually getting a little better :D

If you have any other tips and hints please say so, but remember I'm still a newbie so I don't know many of the more complex terms and stuff. Since it's Spring Break, I'm going to read up on the Production Bible and see what I can learn.

try adding another wobble for diversity at the drop, you've got good ideas but they are a bit scattered all over the place!

Drop comes quite suddenly, try adding some build up or hints that something BIG is gonna happen.

Also, your drums could change a little bit, something is fitting right, i like the first part of your drum loop (kind of ravey!) but it needs more punch! Gotta get the listener to say, "WHOA, SICK BEAT"! cuz dubstep is all about those phat kicks and snares.

I really like what you have going and would love to hear a re-edit! Keep producin!!! :D

Ooh, I like that, thanks soooo much. By the way, if some people are thinking I'm a nub for mentioning Dubba Jonny, note that I'm not trying to be like him, just wondering how he makes his drop so heavy.

I checked out some songs earlier and I realized that you can repeat your wobble pattern throughout the song. I thought that you couldn't do that >.< I also heard some Borgore and I loved how he used his formant bass and his yaya bass, it works pretty well. I tried to make a pretty hardcore bassline but I still need to tinker with it. I don't really know what to do with pads or just a background synth...

Anyway, thanks for the feedback, I'll work on it during Spring Break and re-upload it when I think it's worthy. Or need more help >.<
