sexy sounding kick?

Not sure what ur on about. All I could hear was some standard vengeance kick drum...
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

Ok, I think you are talking about the bass in the track but your topic says kick.

I doubt its a 808 because I have forgotten what it sounded like already lol.

you might also wanna distort the kick a little to give it grit like it is in the track and then add the basstail with your sub

heres a quick thing I threw together trying to create the same kind of sound, hopefully this is on the right track of what you're trying to do:

Soundcloud

basically i used a sine wave bass with a little bit of noise added: if you're running massive heres what I was using: files.me.com/kylemoorman/ev1w2v

then I split the sound into two different freq bands; Image

added reverb with a short tail to the high freq (above 50hz) Image

then distorted the high freq with Image and automated the drive and tone knobs a bit

I threw this together real quick, if I were going to spend time on it, I would definitely resample and automate more parameters to really make it sound organic

lol. decapitator is one of my favorite distortion plugins. you can really mangle shit without it getting too digital sounding. the c4 is only for splitting the freqs, and the actual compressor part is not very good sounding. the reverb is shitty but worked for what I was doing here :-D
